Carrying on Mike’s Kindness
It is widely understood that young people are the future. They will one day be our teachers, our nurses, our leaders. We can all play a part in their success by protecting the natural world around them and helping make extracurriculars more accessible and well-equipped.
Mike was an enthusiastic supporter and coach of both archery and softball. Both on the field and in his own backyard, he helped his daughter Madelynn excel at the sports she loved. He was always ready to hit ground-balls, load the tee, and take pitches behind the plate.
A true music-lover, Mike listened to everything from AC/DC and Metallica to The Beach Boys and Lou Bega. He was always drumming along to the radio on the steering wheel. His daughter Olivia is incredibly talented with multiple instruments including the piano and flute. He was always her biggest fan.
Mike spent much of his free time in the outdoors and loved hunting, fishing, shooting, and kayaking. He cared for all animals, even those that most people avoid like spiders and snakes. He loved feeding the birds and his many pet fish. His two favorite animals - his dogs Dunkin and Daisy - were his best furry buddies. Mike’s love for nature extended to plants as well. He had a vast collection of plants, some of which even had names.
We hope to carry on Mike’s love for the planet, music, and athletics through supporting the causes he cared most about. He had the kindest soul and was always ready to help those around him. He was the life of every party and could put a smile on anybody’s face. We plan to continue positively impacting the community just as he did through charity and service.
